Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is successful alongside traditional medicine and treatments as well as other holistic therapies; it is safe and gentle for all ages.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a highly effective therapy focusing on bringing you in to a favourable wellness and balance, tapping in to your body’s natural ability to self-repair and then having positive effect on a whole range of conditions.

A personal note about my sessions.

By creating a relational field with my client this offers them a safe reflective space in which a light contact is used to listen to your life experience. Life experience can leave an invisible imprint we may not see on the outside but it is held within our bones, tissues, and fluids. We may not be aware of this, or perhaps if we look deeper maybe we are. The subtle expressions of these life experiences are what my skilled contact listens to.

Bringing clients back gently and slowly into relationship with their own body is extremely therapeutic and empowering.  Solely working with this ‘felt sense’ allows your body to adjust and reconnect with nerve pathways, fluids, movement, stiffness, energy, and to return health and vitality.

Experiencing this type of connection allows healing to occur in whichever way is needed for you at the time; be it realignments, calming the nervous system, releasing endorphins, and relieving pain or connecting with the wisdom and wonder of your self-repairing body.

Whether you are looking for pain relief for chronic or acute aliment or disease or interested in finding balance and health and wellbeing, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy can help you to reconnect to your body’s natural self-healing wisdom.

Wondering what Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is?

It is a treatment for the whole body using a non-invasive light touch which goes deep into the body bringing balance to many layers.

After a consultation of how you are doing you will remain fully clothed (apart from belts and shoes) and I shall help you get comfy on the couch and then make contact. My contact will be light, still, and always negotiated. Sessions are focused on supporting and reconnecting to health our whole self. The nervous system is an integral part of my work. It is this system that monitors all our body’s functions by giving and receiving vital messages and responding to them.

As a Biodynamic craniosacral therapist, it is integral to understand how a well-functioning nervous system works. I have had years of training to develop a contact that picks up even the tiniest physiological change in the body. I have also learnt how to relate to the depth of our energetic inner health which underlies our overall well-being. Becoming open and allowing your body to free up to the possibilities of change. The body, mind and spirit can move into more health and balance.

Who and What is the treatment for?

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is for the whole person and their healing taking in to consideration the interconnections of your mind, body, and spirit. It is effective on a whole wide range of illnesses helping the body to reconnect to health encouraging vitality, fluidity, and a sense of well-being. It is suitable for people of all ages including babies, children and elderly and great for either acute or chronic pain.

Clients come for all sorts of reasons. Most often they may have persisting pain or discomfort such as headaches, back ache, which may have been caused by both physical or emotional trauma, which has not yet been resolved.

Cranio is wonderful to help you reconnect to your body and wellness. Maintaining a healthy resourced body and mind is essential to fulfilling our busy, sometimes stressful, daily lives.

How many sessions?

I recommend three to five sessions closely together to allow you and your body to recognise this therapeutic touch, and then we can re-assess how you are doing and see what works for you.

The sessions will last for approximately 50mins with around 40 mins on the table. This may vary depending on you. The first session will also include taking a health history and will last approximately one hour.

A session will cost £45.00. If you would like to book in a block of sessions, I can offer 6 sessions for £240.00 (paid in advance). A block of 6 sessions is valid for three months from the date of purchase.

After your session

Take some time to be a little more mindful of yourself because your body will continue to process over the next few days. You may experience some tiredness, so if you need more sleep, listen to your body and do what’s right for you. Drink plenty of water. Over the next few days’ notice your ailments, mood, sleep pattern, energy levels. Has anything changed?

The more you take a moment to tune into yourself, the more your body will give you feedback and you will notice what’s happening for you. There is no right or wrong; what happens for you is what your system needs to do at that moment in time.

History.

Dr William Sutherland, an osteopath, in the early 1900’s noticed the presence of subtle rhythms in the body, over 100 years ago whilst examining the specialised articulations of the cranial bones. Contrary to popular belief Dr Sutherland realised that cranial sutures are in fact designed to express motion in small degrees. He under took many years of research during which he demonstrated the extent of this motion and eventually concluded that this motion and motility is produced by the body’s inherent life force which he refers to as ‘The Breath of Life’.
